VIOlight Review and Giveaway

A single toothbrush can harbor millions of microorganisms, which translate into harmful bacteria — bacteria that thrive in the warm, moist environment of the average bathroom. VIOlight stops these microorganisms dead in their track. Independent studies prove that the patent-pending VIOlight system eliminates up to 99.9% of bacteria that thrive on your toothbrush. That's millions of microscopic bugs that can cause flu, colds and other illnesses, zapped in minutes!
Oreo has just about all of his teeth in. It's truly hard to believe, this was one of the toughest milestones to meet! We want to be sure we take extra special care of his sweet little smile, both inside and out. Germs linger in the bathroom, this is why I've never understood why we keep our toothbrushes in there. I was very intrigued by the VIOlight toothbrush sanitizers and even more thrilled when I found a pirate styled kid one for Oreo. It also came with interchangeable 'window' like cling stickers so when we get bored with one style we can easily change to another! He loves the toothbrush and it's now become a routine that once he's done we rinse it off, slide it into the top of his VIOlight, and he gets to push the button to start the UV light sanitation! Anything that makes something like brushing a toddlers teeth easier is a must have in my book!

TTC- where we're at now.

Since my last little TTC fallout we have decided to take a break. I need a little breather from the stress and dissappointment that comes along with making a baby. It's not a long one though, just until we get back from vacation. Yes. Vacation! We are headed to Orange, California to stay with family and enjoy some sunshine for 11 days! Woohoo, can't wait. Luckily we have flown with Oreo a few times already so I am not too worried about traveling with a toddler. The only difference this time will be that he is no longer nursing and I wont be able to console him as easily this time! I'm thinking that a few good snacks and toys will help us out. Know of any must haves for traveling with a toddler?
Oh yeah back to TTC. We got some of the most fabulous news this past weekend that Big D's sister (who has been TTC for 2 years) is Preggo!! This little bundle of joy is well overdue and I can't think of anyone that deserves a baby more than them. Hopefully when we get back from vacation my body will be ready to just jump on board and conceive a baby that cycle! It would be so much fun to have a baby close in age to my Sister in laws. They only live 10 mins away and I have to be honest when I say spending time with them is always great fun! To keep my mind off of babies i've resorted to mega product reviewing. I have over 50 different products reviews to share and giveaway so make sure you keep your eye out! There are some pretty fabulous ones :o) Oh, and thank you all so much for your support, it really means the world to me.

Tiny Soles $30 store credit Giveaway and See Kai Run review!

I have been dying to try out a pair of See Kai Run shoes since the day I laid eyes on them. They are truly unique, just like my little man. I enjoy dressing Oreo to match his personality, he is super spunky and full of character, so I like his clothing to help him express that! When I came across the Tiny Soles website I was very excited to see some of my favorite brands! Oreo loves his new kicks, not only are they stylish but he walks around in them for hours and still doesn't want us to take them off, so I am assuming that means they're pretty darn comfortable too. The customer service is astounding and I will be heading back to their store guaranteed! Shipping is super fast and they even stuck in a little blue foot shaped lollipop for Oreo (and me) to share. It worked perfectly to get him to sit still enough for the Review photo!

Also, spend $20 and get FREE shipping!

Ouchies Review and Giveaway

Oreo has just discovered bandages thanks to GiGi. He loves sticking them on his 'Boo,Boos'! Even if it is an imaginary one. Ouchies were so exciting to him, and he could hardly stand wearing just one! They kept him happy while waiting in a doctors office, or during long waits at a restaurant! Its funny how something so simply, and cute, can mean so much to a child! O, I should also mention how inf-actuated the hubby was too, yep thats right these rock big kids socks too!

Straight From The Source:
When my daughter turned five, her supply of bandages began to dwindle from all the boo-boo’s that kids get, so I decided to search the aisles of drugstores for some kind of alternative – something cool, something different, something stylish. To my complete surprise, I came home empty handed; only able to offer her one of my horribly, boring beige bandages.
As I stood there in front of her medicine cabinet, I thought to myself, “Why are there no cool bandages?” I felt that change was in order, but it wasn’t until my wife (who is the true inspiration and “umph” behind these products) gave me a nudge and said, “You can do it.” From that point on, I started Ouchies – offering kids an array of adhesive bandages that allow them to show their style and personality. Since that time I have had two more kids, furthering my dedication to giving kids the chance to express themselves through bandages.
So, join me, my wife, my two daughters and son and let the world know that just because you are 5 or 8 or even 11, you can still have style after you have fallen and scraped your knee. Down with beige bandages, baby!

As a member, you will receive email updates on Ouchies happenings and news, first opportunities on new bandages, special discounts, and free samples. For every new charter member who signs up, we will donate one bandage to local hospitals to distribute to kids.

Snack Taxi Review

I love Mom made ideas, they simply are the best! While trying to 'green' our household I got stuck on what to do about using so many plastic baggies. I then ran into this amazing company Snack Taxi. They make the cutest reusable snack baggies among other reusable products! Oreo loved the prints and the fact that he could hold and use the bag himself! These were perfect for on the go and they were also super easy to clean. They also make great gifts both for children and adults!

The Products:

Straight From the Source:
I invented snackTAXIs way back in 2003 as a way to stem the tide of plastic ziplock bags that flowed from our house to the landfill when our 3 kids started school! We pack over 500 lunches every year, and had definitely fallen prey to the easy appeal of the ziplock bag.
snackTAXIs are easy too- really! They are made in our home-based workshop by talented (and fun!) local sewers- we are committed to keeping our business local, and will never outsource our labor.
We hope you'll enjoy using snackTAXIs as much as we enjoy making them!

up-cycle and rock out

I am a garage sale addict. Full on and ready to admit it! I often find great deals on T-shirts that are too big for Oreo to wear but that I would love to see him in. It's hard to find cute toddler boy clothing, unless you want to spend the BIG bucks. Not saying those big buck products aren't worth it, but I just feel it's silly to spend so much on something that will either
A. get ruined outdoors B. Get ruined indoors C. Get grown out of in a matter of days!
So. Onto what I discovered I could do. In a matter of 10 mins!

I found a sweet T-shirt for $1 at a garage sale.
Grabbed my favorite fitting T of Oreo's to use as my 'size chart' and pattern.
Then.
Got to work.
Here are the Tees by each other for a size comparison.
(if you try this with a size that is too big it will end up baggy around the neck area)

Then I matched the Yellow smaller Tee Neckline with the neckline of the Bigger Tee.

Next I trimmed the bottom of the Tee as straight and clean cut as possible.

After that Trim both the left and right sides of the Big shirt off using the smaller Tee as your guide. I like to try and keep the hem from the top sleeve of the bigger Tee in tact so there is less work later on!

Now we're ready to sew!
Turn the shirt inside out and serge/sew the outside edges starting at the bottom and working your way up to the end of the arms.
Sew both sides.

Done.
Yep that's it.
You can hem the edges if you'd like but I enjoy the 'ruff' look it gives the Tees.
Makes Oreo look like a rock star!
Flip that puppy right side out and admire your work.
This super sweet and unique Tee only cost me $1.
Sweet!

*Please note: this is my first ever tutorial if you have any questions and if I left something out please let me know! I will not be offended, just excited to know someones actually reading this!*

KINeSYS Earthkind Sunscreen

Fabulous stuff! I can't wait to try it out while we are on vacation this summer. Oreo had no problem letting me put it on and we had zero issues with skin irritation! Big D also has very sensitive skin and often gets welts just from sitting in the sun for small amount of time, KineSYS did the trick! We loved that it wasn't oily or sticky and it really help up well throughout all of the warm weather activities we did! The price is great and the product is even better, a definite must have for this summer!

Straight From The Source:
KINeSYS was founded on the principles of the Three R’s – reduce, reuse and recycle. Our bottles are 100% recyclable High Density Polyethylene (Bisphenol-A free). We shun excess packaging whenever possible and when necessary we use cardboard that is a minimum of 40% post-consumer recycled board. We do not use ingredients that accumulate in the body or the environment and print using vegetable-based inks when available. We source locally as much as possible to reduce fuel use. We love our planet and for that reason alone, we don’t test on animals.
Conventional self-powered spray cans can contain potentially harmful propellants and also may not be easily recyclable. The pressured container can also present special challenges when travelling by air on vacation or otherwise. KINeSYS products have always used manual, finger-powered sprayers. These non-aerosol pharmaceutical-grade sprayers disperse an ultrafine mist but result in no direct detrimental environmental effects. Like all KINeSYS components, they are also recyclable.
KINeSYS made the commitment to purchase clean, emissions-free electricity generated by wind power to offset that used in our manufacturing process as well as our office. This sustainable power is certified by EcoLogo, North America’s oldest environmental standard. Conventional electricity production results in the release of massive amounts of carbon dioxide, a leading cause of climate change. Renewable power generation allows us to make a choice to fight climate change when purchasing the products we use everyday.

barley & birch review and giveaway

I love when I run into a company that is more than just cash out of my pocket. A difference is made when purchasing from Barely & Birch. A difference that can be displayed for all to see. Organic clothing is a lifestyle we strive so desperately for as a family, but it isn't always easy. It's hard knowing which companies actually stand behind their products or truly believe in what they do. Barley & Birch is one of those companies. I am in love, so very in love. Oreo will be sporting his little Tree Hugger Tee all day April 22nd and I can only hope at the big Michigan Earth Day festival we have tons of passersby ask us where it was purchased!

Straight from the Source:
Kids get dibs on the future. Let's give them a good one. Imagine you're a kid. Your whole life's in front of you. But so are melting ice caps, shrinking rain forests, and all kinds of other bad-dreamy things. No fair! Kids need clothes, but they also need a healthy abundant world. Barley & birch was created to give them both. Their shirts, onesies, pants and hats are made in the USA using 100% certified organic cotton and water-based inks. (They don't pollute the earth, water, or expose farm workers to toxins.) Also, at least 15% of their profits go to several carbon-reducing initiatives in order to fully offset the carbon emissions that result from the production of their garments. And at least another 15% goes to organizations that improve people's lives around the world.
