Happy almost Halloween!

What are your plans for this Spooktacular holiday

Or do you not find it that exciting at all?

I will admit I am a Halloween junkie, I love it! It could have something to do with my love for fall. I love the visits to the pumpkin patch, candy apples, fresh donuts and cider...*sigh* I'm not ready for it to end!

I couldn't pick between two different costumes for Oreo this year so we decided on two! Luckily we had a few places to trick or treat so we got good use out of both, plus I scored a great deal on one at a second hand store for only $6!

We went to our local Zoo which is always a blast, candy and animals, nothing better! Plus they are really good about handing out non-candy treats too, like animal crackers and pretzels! That's my plan this year, plus some pencils, plastic rings, and erasers! Yep. I'm that mom.

We also took him to trick or treat at his great grandpas nursing home, I love seeing those sweet little old ladies eyes light up when a little one comes racing down the hall for some sweet treats! It's always a treat to see Oreo with his great grandpa! We scored big time there, I'm planning on handing that candy back out on Halloween night. We definitely do NOT need it in this house! I am totally stoked to pass out candy, this is our first time in years that we will actually have trick or treaters come over. We used to live in the boonies, then we moved to a large apartment building, and now with our most recent move we live smack dab in the middle of town with tons of houses around us and a cute little porch to sit on and wait for the kiddies!
Plus I decorated the yard, see (with my mom and Oreo's help):

I thought it would be fun to look at Oreo's past costumes! He has grown SO much!
His First Year: Only a Month and A half old! Little Banana.

Year Two: 1 Year old Garden Gnome!

This Year: 2 years old! Punkin' and Sock Monkey!

If you are celebrating Halloween this year I hope you have a great time with your family! Feel free to post me a link if you post pictures, I love seeing everyones costumes!

Olive Janes review and giveaway

Cute. No wait cute does not even begin to describe this mamas works of art. She creates the most adorable cloth diaper covers I have ever laid eyes on. The fact that they work perfectly is truly an added bonus. To be honest I would put them on my son either way...they are that cute! I am planning on stocking up before baby arrives! The one with the banana just puts too much cuteness all in one place I will just have to eat little Tater Tot up in it!!  I have also found that Oreo likes to wear them with a small insert during our potty training sessions. Score! Superb quality, super fast shipping, and amazing customer service. This is one diaper cover you will not regret buying!

About Olive Janes:
I'm an artist/designer and mother to 4 fabulous boys! I have a BFA in Visual Arts with an emphasis in Intaglio/Lithography and a passion for sewing and fibers. I'm originally from New Brunswick, Canada but now reside in Utah! My men in my life (husband included) steal my heart and they are the center of my world.

For years my sisters have been encouraging me to start up a business making quilts and using my creative abilities. I racked my brain trying to come up with ideas for my business name, wanting desperately to pay homage to my sisters in the title somehow. As children Santa Claus always put jars of olives in our stockings, just for the girls (I don't think my brothers liked olives as much). It was always such a treat for us girls...and thus "olive" was chosen, my middle name is Jane, and there you have it....Olive Jane!

Babykicks cloth diaper Review and Giveaway

My Personal Experience:
Oh baby are these diapers rockin'! I mean they really rock, for a really long time too! I was super brave and put the diaper on Oreo on a day that we would be out and about for a while. When I say a while I mean three hours, yes folks I said three hours! To be honest I was convinced it could have lasted longer, but he blessed this sacred diaper with his poo and I was unable to test my theory. Until two nights later that is. I was scrambling for a nighttime diaper and almost forgot about the miracle Babykicks that was so patiently waiting to truly prove itself. Long story short I added nothing but what was sent to me for the review (a new 3g bumboo pocket with a one size insert) and it held up beautifully! My absolute favorite feature of this diaper is the fleece lined leg gussets. Not sure what that is? It's the extra fabric that is perfectly placed around babies thighs to prevent any 'leakage' or 'blowouts' that tend to happen when that extra bit of fabric is missing! I am a huge fan of gussets but they sometimes leave red marks on Oreo's chunky thighs. Babykicks went ahead and made my dreams come true by creating a super soft gusset that I could tell was tons more comfortable for my little man! The fit was nice and snug, the best snug you can get for such an amazingly absorbent diaper! This is the first I've tried that can truly be both a night and daytime diaper! Amazing! I recommended this diaper 100% to all of my fluffy lovers out there, especially for a nighttime diaper!
Oh and I should mention that this is now hubby's favorite diaper. Not only because of the diaper itself but because of their new website. http://ourdiapersaretheshit.com How fun is that? They even have a Dad's Section, check it out you will definitely get a few chuckles out of it! Check out their Live cloth diaper demos HERE!

Straight from the Source:
The BabyKicks 3g Pocket Diaper is a one size diaper that is incredibly thin and trim.  It features a luxurious inner lining that ensures only the softest fibers touch baby's most sensitive areas. The innovative micro fleece barrier design prevents wicking to the outside and special fleece leg gussets stop leaks and hold messes in while allowing airflow to help prevent diaper rash. No blow outs or inserts hanging out of the back of this diaper due to the front stuffing pocket. Side snap closures are long lasting, user friendly and prevent wing droop. Colorful snaps look cute and can function as an intuitive, color coded sizing guide (if you choose the multicolored snap option).  No cover required due to our super soft breathable waterproof outer shell.  Our 3g Pocket is sure to quickly become a favorite in your diaper stash. Especially with the unbeatable quality and value!

What the NEW 3g Bumboo Pocket Diaper has to offer:

Shout GO Play review

The nesting has begun. I wouldn't label myself a clean freak, but I definitely can't stand a messy house! I have noticed that my cleaning has gotten much more in depth and am wondering if it has to do with the 'nesting' phase during pregnancy. Oreo seems to be able to make a million messes in only 1 second. I give him crackers, walk away for a few minutes, come back, and discover he has turned those crackers into a full blown tornado all over the floor. It doesn't end with crackers of course, this is where some of my new favorite products come in!

I really really love the Shout Triple action spray cleaner! I even used this on the carpet for a nice little grape juice stain. Whenever Oreo has something super messy its as if his hands are drawn to my clothing. I was having a hard time keeping my clothes stain free but now with the shout advance stain remover gel my wardrobe has been saved!

To Really put the products to the test, we were sent 52 Nature Activities by Lynn Gordon. The cards are filled with great activities to explore with your kids outdoors.  We had tons of fun, especially when Big D got home and joined us. I would recommended these for any family with kids of all ages. Its super important to have that quality time with them doing things outside! Of course mommy and daddy's clothes were the dirtiest in the end, nothing was ruined though thanks to Shout

How cute is Oreo running through the leaves?

A Message from Shout: Shout knows play is so much more than fun and games. Studies show that unstructured play helps kids build fundamental skills like problem solving, coping, and conflict resolution. In other words: play is how kids become happy, healthy adults. Fall has arrived with crisp, cool air and new reasons to go out and play. So, let your kids take that rewarding jump into a pile of leaves. Take at trip to the park and watch their imaginations run free. The one thing you won’t do is worry about their clothes; play should get messy and Shout can help.

Delicate soles Review

I will admit I was bit apprehensive when I received these shoes in the mail! They were so small and pliable I figured there is no way I would be able to wear these as actual shoes! I was so very mistaken. I really like the way the shoes feel almost like you have nothing on your feet at all. These are especially perfect while preggo as they have extra comfort room for swollen piggies. I had to pick the lipstick red, they were super bold and bright, not very fitting for me but I guess that's what drew me to them. I was feeling brave and 'unique' that day I guess! I decided to try them out for a short run to the store, just in case they didn't work out I didn't want to be left in uncomfy shoes for too long of a period. After we got home I didn't even realize that I had left them on until I was getting ready to jump in the shower! They were that comfy! These would make an awesome stocking stuffer this year, I know i'd love to find the other two colors in mine!

Its a sad day...

My Luvs Jurn3 Facebook page is GONE...forever. All 600+ fans that I worked so hard to get have all been gracefully whisked ripped away.Unfortunately there is nothing that Facebook can do to retrieve it. Somehow it has been getting hacked into, along with my personal Facebook page so it doesn't come as too much of a shock, but is still a really BIG bummer. All I can do is start from scratch. I am however closing my shop and making the page solely for the blog. BUT I have decided to open up an entire new shop, it will be announced in the future once I get everything worked out from my current/old one. Any orders that were made previous to the dismissal will of course still be fulfilled, if you do have a question though please contact me! So here I am begging you all to please, please, please 'like' me again! I plan on having some Facebook only giveaways soon to build my numbers back up so make sure you are a fan so you don't miss out! Thanks in advance!

Ella's Kitchen Review

We love the convenience of pouched baby and toddler foods! To be honest I wish there were more companies willing to make them for adults too. Oreo was in love with every new flavor I introduced to him from Ella's Kitchen. For example the sweet potatoes, pumpkin, apples, and blueberries pouch was his all time favorite! I love how creative they were combining different fruits and vegetables. They offer many different varieties of foods and snacks, that are each made with only the healthiest organic ingredients! Ella's Kitchen has the cutest website, and Oreo really enjoys visiting it! I am very impressed with their wonderful customer service, they are a company that truly cares about their customers.

Hello third trimester!

Our little Tater Tot has officially arrived to the third trimester! I am no where near being ready for his arrival. This pregnancy has been fabulous and I've been blessed with good health. Well for the most part. A few scary (what I think were contractions) last Saturday, Sunday, and into today have me really freaking out about how UN-ready we are.

No bassinet, crib, changing table, baby monitor, bottles, newborn cloth dipes, or an in home nanny  okay scratch that last, I forgot I was listing things we actually need...not want! With no chance of a baby shower we are on our own with this one! No biggie, right?

Did I mention we have no name picked out. Nothing. I did in the beginning. {{Long story}}

Boy name suggestions anyone? I love unique but not crazy! I love Jackson and Aiden but they are both simply overused now. Oliver and Cairo were just too 'out there' for hubby. My most favorite name in the world has been 'called' by a family member already. Is it weird to ask her if I can use the name too? hmmm.

I  have decided to set my focus on the baby nursery. It will help me feel like I am busily preparing for baby, and can check a big spot off on my to-do list.

I want it to be super simple, yet super cute. One little big bummer is we rent. That means no painting. So I've gotta get creative! You know what that means...a complete DIY nursery! I am so excited to begin this little project!

I want the nursery to have a very organic, calm felling to it. Light browns with cute little hedgehogs and owls.

To begin with, I am in love with wall decals. However I am not so in love with the price $$$$ can we say ExPeNsIvE?! So I will be creating my own. I found a fabulous tutorial and will fill you all in when I begin the project! I will be making a few trees that will hopefully look like the ones pictured when I am finished!

I also want to paint a few canvas prints, I have not painted in what feels like forever! I am hoping the talent never left my fingertips and I can easily put these prints onto canvas!

I want to create my very own paper mobile. Kind of like this one, but I will add a few owls in there and layer it up a bit too!

As for the crib, we are undecided on a brand! I know for a fact I do not want a drop side crib. We don't have any experience with 'todays' cribs because for Oreo we were lucky enough to be gifted an amazing older style hearty oak crib that folds down a 1/4 way from the top. We love it. However Oreo is no where near ready for a toddler bed, and I doubt that will change any time soon! I do know what style I would like though! I really like the look of the box style cribs. I also like the idea of having the changing table attached, unless size becomes an issue. Not sure which one we will go with yet, but this is the style I am after...

Whew. That's it for now, I will definitely be updating with progress on this exciting project! Any tips, ideas, comments...please share!

Color Me House Review

This is the perfect gift for a kid of ANY age! We had so much fun with our Color me Rocket! I guess I should rephrase that, we are still having tons of fun with our color me rocket! When I lugged the package in, Oreo couldn't contain himself he was so excited. He saw the picture on the side of the box and knew it was something for him to try out. We waited until daddy got home to open it up, it seemed like something they would have fun doing together. Boy was I right! As soon as he walked through the door Oreo was ready and standing by the box pointing at it letting daddy know all about it! Thankfully hubby was just as excited and they opened it up right away. It didn't take them very long to get it put up, I just sat and laughed at how cute it is to see how much a 2 year old 'helps.' When they were done we grabbed some crayons and markers and started showing Oreo that he could color it. The look on his face was priceless, he couldn't believe he had his own little 'house' and got to color on it too! It's fun watching him grab his crayons and go to town on the rocket. People comment on how great of an idea it is all the time, and I couldn't agree more. He plays inside and outside of his rocket at least once a day!  SO much fun!
